During the weekend, I went house-viewing with Mike at Parkville. It’s still as I remembered and I still prefer the upper unit. But I’m still undecided as to whether I oughta get it. My main reservation is the location. I’m just so used and comfortable to the Bangsar area that I find it so hard to imagine living elsewhere. The convenience of Bangsar has certainly spoilt me!
Having said that, I do like the gated community of Parkville. Driving around inside the area reminds me of the Wisteria Lane community (Desperate Housewives). Hehe. It has that chic community concept with wide lanes between each row of townhouses and at the back of each row of houses is a different garden concept. So it’s pretty neat. However, once you get out of that area, you face congestion and other developments which are not quite as chic – major turn-off. The location is not fantastic and not as strategic as Bangsar of cos. Also the existing access roads aren’t the best around altho I’m given to understand that construction of new roads are underway.
The layout of the upper unit is quite nice – much nicer than the ground unit. I can imagine doing it up quite nicely and there’s quite a bit of space to do a few things. The setback of the unit is that the balcony area is rather small and there are a few wasted areas which have not been properly utilised. A larger balcony would have been lovely and the design could have been somewhat better. Well, one can’t have it all I gez.
I like…
1. …the upper unit.
2. …the gated community concept.
3. …the privacy it seems to contain.
4. …that it’s landed property (somewhat) – no mess about with condo management, etc.
I’m not crazy about…
1. …the location – it’s not Bangsar! Sigh!!
2. …the access roads.
3. …the congestion outside the gate.
4. …the leasehold aspect.
Oh my…I’m in such a dilemma. Hmm…
